So I woke up this morning and thought that I’d write up my skincare routine. I absolutely love reading these so thought I’d actually do one myself. All the products are things that I have bought, nothing has been gifted. And I honestly use these products every day. I have oily/combination, spot prone, sensitive skin, (yes that’s a bit of a mouthful) so it’s tricky for me to find products that work. These products definitely work for me and I cannot recommend them enough.
First thing in a morning, I use my Garnier Micellar Water with a cotton pad and run this over my face and neck. I don’t use much of this, as a little goes a long way. But this just removes any oil that has accumulated overnight. This is a great product because there’s no rinsing, I literally sit at my makeup desk to do this.
Then I use my Lush Tea Tree Water to tone my face. I use two or three sprays of this and let that absorb into my skin. This product is great for spot prone skin due to the tea tree water and it has hydrating ingredients too. I use this product a lot, which is why I got the big bottle!
My third morning step is to moisturise. I use my Olay Light Day Fluid as it has an SPF 15. As I have fair skin, I wear this all year round, everyday. I top up with a higher SPF on hot, summer days to protect my skin. My skin goes red, tomato red, when I catch the smallest amount of sun so an SPF is a daily must for me. I let this sink into my skin and if I am in a rush, I tend to do my eyebrows/eyeliner while I wait for this to be absorbed. I love this moisturiser because it doesn’t leave me with a greasy layer (which for my oily skin is not good) so it’s perfect under makeup.
That’s my morning routine done. Now to the evening! My evening routine uses some of the product from the morning and some others too.
My first evening step is to remove my makeup. I use the Boots Essentials Cleansing Wipes and Eye Makeup Remover Pads. I don’t use the Garnier Micellar Water because I find these wipes are faster. I have other products to cleanse my face so these wipes just remove the day’s makeup.
My second evening step is to use my Lush Herbalism Face Cleanser. The colour of this is green, like grass green, but don’t let that put you off. This product can be used morning and night. But I like to use it in the evening only, this saves me money because I use half as much, and the Garnier Micellar Water is something I can use at my makeup desk, without moving. Im lazy like that!
My third evening step is to use the Lush Tea Tree Water again. I said earlier that I bought the big bottle because I use a lot of it, and I meant it!
After that is when my skincare routine can change. If I am doing one of these next things, I do the Tea Tree Water after using these items. I use a Lush The Birth Of Venus Jelly Face Mask twice a week. It’s such a great product and leaves your skin feeling so refreshed and soft afterwards. I also use Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Pore Strips, I have both the Face and Nose ones. I use these once a week, not the same days as the Jelly Face Mask because I didn’t like to use too many products on my skin in one evening.
There is something that I feel my skincare routine is missing, and that’s an eye cream. I don’t want something that leaves my skin greasy but any suggestions are more than welcome!
