Review: Barry M Ready Set Smooth Translucent Powder

For months and months, I have been looking for a setting powder that works and doesn’t cost a fortune. And I think I’ve finally found one! I’m a drugstore/high street girl through and through, and this powder costs just £5.99. I picked mine up from Superdrug as part of a 3 for 2!

The Packaging

I really like the packaging of this product. It’s the perfect size so you get a fair amount of product but it still fits in my makeup drawers (which are pretty shallow). The product is a little bit tricky to get out of the sieve but once you do, it’s worth the effort. There is a mirror inside the lid and a sponge so this product is perfect for popping in your handbag. The mirror is good quality and doesn’t seem blurry (I’ve had this problem with free ones in the past). I’ve been applying mine with a powder brush so I don’t know how well the sponge works but it looks and feels like good quality.

The Product

I have been using this powder to set my under eye concealer and then across my whole face. I have very sensitive skin so I thought it may react to this product, but it hasn’t! On a no-makeup makeup day, I have been wearing this on its own and it honestly looks like my skin, but better. I have oily skin and I’ve noticed that less oil builds up over the day since I’ve been using this to set my face. The powder is so fine and light-weight. It creates a matte look but doesn’t look cakey. There is a lot of product in the container so it’s definitely going to take me a while to get through it.

I would definitely recommend this product. Especially for someone who has oily skin. And for those who have sensitive skin, it’s worth a go! Whenever I use a new product, I expect my skin to have a reaction but it hasn’t to this. Thank God!
