Everyday Cruelty Free Makeup Look

All the products used in this makeup look are extremely affordable, all are cruelty free and all can be found on the high street. I’ve included links to the products within this post (not sponsored and no affiliate links – I just thought it would be useful). And I’ve included the prices too just in case anyone is interested.

I actually used two primers with this look. One to help clear any blemishes, and one to help fill in my pores and fine lines. I used the Elf Blemish Control Primer first, let that set in, and then used the Elf Mineral Infused Primer over the areas I tend to get oily in throughout the day. I tend to use this mixture of two primers when I know I need my makeup to last at least 10 hours.

Next it’s time for my favourite foundation at the moment. It’s also from Elf! It’s their Flawless Finish Foundation and I use the shade Porcelain. It does contain an SPF, and you can smell that sun cream scent, but it goes once the product has set down, and it doesn’t cause me any reaction or irritation (and I have very sensitive skin). This product lasts a good 6-8 hours on my oily skin without using the primer mixture I mentioned above.

Then it’s time to tackle my under eye dark circles. I think because I am so fair, I really notice when I don’t colour correct, and this NYX Dark Circle Concealer is my absolute favourite. I’d highly recommend giving it a try if you suffer with dark purple under eyes. And then I will go in with my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer to provide a bit more coverage, and over any blemishes or scars I may have.

For a setting powder, I have recently fallen in love this with Elf Setting Powder. It is smoother and more fine than my Laura Mercier Setting Powder is. It costs less. And my makeup lasts just as well. So it’s definitely a no brainer.

For my cheek products, I use the bronzer from the Elf Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder, and then dust lightly with the Revolution Baked Bronzer over the top. The Elf Bronzer is matte, but the Revolution has a satin shine to it, so I love to use these two together to give my skin a natural glow. And then I do the same with the blush. The Blush in the Elf Contouring Blush is matte so I use this, and then dust lightly with the Sleek Blush over the top. And in terms of highlighter, I use both of the Elf ones. I put Blush Gems everywhere I want to highlight, and then put Moonlight Pearls on the very high points of my face for a bit more intensity. I love using all these products as I can vary my makeup look every day, just by using more or less of each of these.

Now it’s time for my eyebrows, and I cannot go out without doing something to my brows. I use the NYX Soft Brown Pencil to shape the tail of my brow and fill in overly sparse areas, and then the NYX Micro Brow in Auburn to fill in the front. To set those in place, I use the Elf Brow Gel. This is meant to be used as a Brow and Eyelash Gel, but I only use it on my brows. And it’s incredible!

For my eyes, on a daily basis I keep things simple and on this occasion I just a NYX Jumbo Pencil in French Fries as eyeshadow and eyeliner. I apply this in my water liner and then on top of the lid, and blend it out. More towards the outer corner of my eye so that the colour frames my eye more. And then it’s a coat of Elf Mineral Mascara, which is the best mascara I think I’ve ever tried, and it removes so easily. It creates the nicest fluttery and natural looking lashes.

Then it’s a spritz or two of my Elf Setting Spray and I’m all done.

If anyone is looking for products that are tried and tested, cruelty free, and last on oily skin, then I’d highly recommend giving these a go.

Love,

Laurie
